About

Allison Westfahl is a nationally renowned personal trainer, endurance sports coach, and media presence. After growing up on a sheep farm in KS, she went on to graduate magna cum laude from Yale University with a BA in Classical Music. Looking for a more balanced lifestyle, Westfahl moved to Boulder, CO after college and pursued her other love-athletics- by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

After only three years in this career field, she was named the youngest ever Director of Personal Training at FAC in Boulder, CO, a nationally known health club which was named “Best Gym in America” by Men’s Journal in 2006. Two years later she was honored with the Pursuit of Excellence Award, a full-ride scholarship awarded to only two trainers across the nation seeking higher education in exercise physiology. Allison now holds a MS in Exercise Science, and has been profiled in both Athletic Business and Fitness Business magazines for her career accomplishments.

During her tenure as a trainer and coach, Allison has written over twenty articles on the topics of strength and endurance training for the websites ehow.com and balancepointhealth.org. She was also the staff fitness writer for Active Cities USA for two years, and is regularly called upon by local and national newspapers for her expertise in the field of training and fitness. In additional to her loyal clientele of amateur and youth athletes, Ms. Westfahl has coached such world-class athletes as Seth Wealing (2006 Xterra National Champion), Timmy Duggan, Blake Caldwell, Mike Friedman and Tom Danielson (pro cyclists for Team Garmin-Chipotle).

Allison has taken her knowledge and passion for fitness into the media as well. She has choreographed and served as on-screen talent in six fitness DVDs produced by Gaiam, and she was named one of “8 elite trainers” by Shape magazine. Most recently, she served as chief choreographer on the Bob Greene “8 week total body makeover” workout that was filmed on Oprah’s ranch in Santa Barbara, CA.
